The first chapters explain how Mike Savage came to Iceland and describe his early visits. He introduces the reader to the country, covering its geography, history, wildlife and people, how the fishing is organised and what to do and not to do. He explains that the best fishing is not necessarily the most expensive. The next section introduces the readers to rivers, starting at Reykjavik and going clockwise round the Island. This section also covers Icelandic fishing for Brown Trout, Sea Trout, Char and even a short section about Greenland. Lastly there is a section of statistics for readers who want to learn more about rivers, number of rods fished and facilities provided, etc.
Sadly Mike has now succumbed to the illness against which he fought so bravely while writing this book.
